Editing Services

I have extensive experience in editing, formatting, proofreading, and writing. With a keen eye for detail, I work hard to provide the best possible outcome to any project hired for. I have reviewed both fiction and non-fiction works to prepare them for publishing in digital and print form. As such, I am familiar with KDP and Smashwords.

I am an avid reader including fantasy, romance, science-fiction, and non-fiction.

FAQs

What do your rates include?

Each service includes one complete pass of editing. Many editors out there have two or three passes included in their pricing. I am able to provide quality service at an affordable rate by allowing the customer to decide how many passes to hire me for. With that said, I do strongly suggest a proofread to be done after final revisions (and I offer a discount on manuscripts I have previously edited).

When should I purchase a full copyedit?

I strongly suggest going over your draft a number of times before hiring an editor. And after your revisions, ask some beta readers to take a look. Then do more revisions. After that, you’re ready for a full line and copyedit.

When should I purchase a proofread?

Proofreading should be one of the last steps in the editing process–after you review your editor’s revisions, make your changes, and format your manuscript.

What file type should I send you to edit?

I utilize track changes in Microsoft Word. Please send doc or docx files.

Do you offer content or developmental editing?

At this time, I do not do rewrites. I will, however, comment on areas that could be improved or clarified, and I offer suggestions/questions that will help point you in the right direction.

Do you offer a formatting service?

At this time, I do not. However, that may change in the future.

What experience do you have editing?

I regularly freelance for an independent publishing company, Valixi Inc. I also edit and format for Will Bly, a dark fantasy author. Previous to branching out on my own, I picked up a number of writing and editing projects via Upwork. I have been regularly hired to quickly and efficiently edit blog articles.

Why are your rates so low?

Editing is my passion. I truly love it. And I love reading. What better way to make some extra cash while enjoying two things I love. To boot, I love being able to support independent authors. My husband is an indie author, and I understand the struggles of writing, let alone having to shell out hundreds of dollars on an expensive editor. I offer a quality edit at a price you can afford.

How do payments work?

Payment is made by PayPal only. I require 25% prior to starting any work and the remainder once edits are complete.

I will send you a contract agreement via email. Once I receive your confirmation of agreement via email and first payment, I will begin work.

Will your prices increase?

My prices are subject to change. I will, however, keep loyal customers in mind when implementing any new price change.
